In Peking on February 12 1912 the Manchu dynasty abdicated the throne ending three centuries of absolute rule. Three simultaneous edicts declared abdication throne acceptance of a republic and approval of terms with Yuan and republican leaders. The surrender is unconditional and Pu Yi the child emperor ends his three year reign on the throne. Wreck of the Maine Raised From Mud in Havana
The Maine wreck floated free of mud after water was flooded into the surrounding dam. Water level dropped about one foot below harbor level at low tide with plans to raise the ship by nightfall.
