Jackson Kentucky February 7 Beach Hargis the son of Judge James Hargis killed his father in a general store firing five shots. The judge a long time political and criminal figure in Kentucky had been accused of complicity in murders and years of feud with the Cockrill family. Hargis drank prior to the shooting and was immediately jailed amid chaos as clerks and customers fled. The feud linked to multiple murders spread through Breathitt County with earlier killings of Dr Cox Marcum and Kim Cockrill.
