London reports Gen. Knox has halted pursuit of DeWet due to Boers crossing the Orange River. About 3,000 republicans entered Cape Colony and a parallel force reached Marlips town. DeWet with 4,500 men is northeast of Ladybrand, and an attack on Winburg is expected.
