Chicago December 10 Frederick K Thayer president of the Rayfield Motor Truck Company of Chrisman Illinois was arrested on an incident filed last July charging a confidence game. Miss Frank Gray Shaver an automobile dealer from Menominee Michigan said she lost 5000 investing in the stock of the corporation stating the firm did not manufacture cars and existed only to sell stock.

Turkish Force at Kurna Prisoners Surrender

Subhi Bey the late governor of Basra and his Turkish force at Kurna surrendered unconditionally to the Indian expeditionary force. British troops then occupied Kurna and controlled the region from the Tigris to the sea after heavy fighting and captures of guns and prisoners.
