Mumford Case Settled After U S Supreme Court Involvement
The Rock Island road signs an agreement not to remove the Fifth street depot to satisfy Mumford’s judgment for 7000 dollars. Mumford, a former front brakeman, was injured in Des Moines in 1902, suing for 10000 dollars. The dispute turned on a 30 day injury notice clause and an Iowa statute about liability contracts.
