Governor Deneen summoned State's Attorney Hatch and ordered a special grand jury to indict about 100 rioters jailed since Friday. Police closed drugstores, fruit shops, and soda fountains. fifteen saloon keepers were arrested for keeping open. Two men added to the death toll, Frank Delmore and William Donnegan, died from riot injuries at St. John's Hospital. 3,000 soldiers remain in the city to quell violence as mobs flare around the outskirts and mysterious fires appear citywide.
