Chicago officials blame former Chief Collins for lending Eddie Tate to Peoria authorities seven weeks ago. Tate, the so called gentleman burglar, reportedly fled Peoria in an automobile with money and headed toward Chicago. Police track Tate's movements along routes into the city and study his distinctive appearance, suspect wife involvement, and a prearranged escape plan evidenced by a registered Chicago-sent letter on the day of his disappearance.

Details of Great Bond Theft Told Attorney

Rhode Island executive admits long running embezzlement

Levi Cook Lincoln longtime secretary-treasurer and general manager of Woonsocket Machine and Power confessed to stealing about 82 000 from the company and channeling funds into Wall Street. He resigned from the Woonsocket firm Estabrook company and two local banks. Fraud included forged notes bearing the name George Batchelor and a $10 000 bond from Fidelity and Deposit of Baltimore.

Freeport April 26 The county board adopted resolutions accusing the informant to the state board of charities of falsehood over a photo showing a girl chained by the ankles.
