Spokane reports a proposal for a new state uniting Idaho northeastern Oregon and eastern Washington. A Spokane chamber of commerce committee recommends boundary lines under the 45th parallel and Wyoming northern line to form a central city capital.
In Jefferson City Missouri April 12 the House endorsed Roosevelt against wealth manipulation while Democrats objected noting he denounced those who differed with him. A Bryan retirement resolution was adopted. In Hartford Connecticut the Senate concurred endorsing Roosevelt administration despite three opposing Democrats. The Springfield Illinois scene covered saloon suppression near Fort Sheridan and naval school site with a 1 mile eighth radius temperance zone. The Illinois Senate debated option bills and corporate land ownership fading. Fyvrot slated to join Congress in December following a Louisiana election.

Bloomington April 12. Thomas Baldwin faces a $15 000 damages claim by Simon Eiseman husband of Mrs Jane Eiseman and father of Corey Eiseman two Kennedy victims. Eiseman says Baldwin and others were involved in the killing after prosecution for attacking Cora Canned Salmon Causes Death. East Baton Rouge parish grand jury refuses to indict Congressman George Favrot for the murder of Dr. R. H. Aldrich after Aldrich’s remark about Mrs Favrot. Favrot, freed from jail, had resigned as district judge after the 1909 shooting. The finding was unanimous and followed by a small celebration at home.
Shanghai reports telegrams from 20 famine areas say conditions worsen yet relief from American aid calm the anti foreign mood. Chinese officials thank the American Consul Rodger for aid, describe rioting for food and cannibalism rumors, while urging Americans to donate 3 million dollars in three weeks.
Chicago reports that Amalgamated Meat Cutters and Butchers Workmen of America plans to press demands on packers. Members in South Omaha St Louis East St Louis St Joseph Kansas City and St Paul have joined Chicago in the move. A New York meeting on April 22 will fix a date for concerted action. They urged an end to dismissals from government roles of Civil War veterans or widows solely for old age. The president reaffirmed instructions to stop discrimination and pledged care for the veterans.

Milwaukee April 12 Frederick Pabst a millionaire brewer and Mrs Leon Barnickel wife of a well known athletic instructor were seriously hurt last night in an auto accident. They were run down by a trolley car and picked up unconscious. Mrs Barnickel was thrown to the pavement as Mr Pabst was dragged 150 feet over muddy pavement. Both are at Trinity hospital but expected to recover.
Attorney General Stead filed a motion in the Illinois Supreme Court asking to complete the record and grant a continuance in the William Nagle burglary case from Rock Island County. The record also sought permission to supply additional records. The hearing had been scheduled for next Monday in Springfield.
