A massive blaze in Spokane Falls W T destroyed over thirty blocks of the business quarter. Losses range from seven to ten million dollars with about 2.3 million in insurance. Despite water shortages and high winds, the fire raged until it reached the river, sparing only the residence district and forcing use of giant powder to halt the spread.
