Shooting crews from Buffalo Gas Pictures set up for a big screen adaptation of Margaret Lawrence's The Stone Angel in Hartney. From Sept 6 to 9, the 1930s to 1950s era scenes are recreated, and locals are asked to keep vehicles away during the first day of shooting.
Kamsack now has two full-time doctors after Dr Edward Mathabela did not return from vacation in South Africa. He had worked with Dr Frederik De Villiers at the town owned Kamsack Mall Clinic. The town has hired a Saskatchewan based doctor recruitment agency to recruit four full-time physicians.
Swan Valley RCMP charged Melissa Blair Audy 23 with the death of Venecia Shanelle Audy 3 after an autopsy found the case suspicious. Venecia died Aug 14 after hospitalization for a fall claimed by the mother. The investigation continues in Manitoba.
