SILVERWOOD Rev A Stanley of Togo will preach at the school house Sunday Sept est at 7 p.m. Visitors included J McEwen with Mr and Mrs T Swain and daughter Ethel. H Wilson hosted by J Rea and attended Union Church service. J McNeil preached at Union Church with sister Cassie McNeil of Roblin. Farmers Union Ladies held a successful meeting at Mrs A Donaldson’s house to plan a bazaar. A near accident occurred when Mrs E Cox, while cleaning, fell into a cistern but managed to cling to the wall. her husband was away and Mr T Davidson helped after calling.
A woman was quickly rescued from a dangerous situation and sustained bruises and shock. Authorities reported she is stabilizing and receiving medical care as friends wish her a speedy recovery.
Grand Narrows residents report visits by Miss Evelyn Lester and others, sunflowers blooming, and two farmerettes at work. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gosselin on a new son born in September. Dramatic Society plans a September 22 meeting at 9 p.m. Rally Day Service on September 21 marks the pastor's day with a combined service at 11 a.m. W S U F M meetings at Atwater and La Chance homes include tea and fundraising for Greece. Bazaar fixed for October 1, with next U F M meeting October 4 and donations noted.
Mr W Angus of Elkhorn renewed acquaintances in Merridale while Mr and Mrs C Wright of Canora Sask visit friends. Mrs J Saunders and C Saunders host Deepdale visitors.
