Richardson Oilseed hits one million tonnes in a year
Richardson Oilseed Limited reports its Yorkton and Lethbridge canola plants have processed one million tonnes of canola in their first year. Pat Van Osch, vice president general manager, notes growth from 360,000 tonnes ten years ago to the current milestone. The Yorkton facility, opened last June, includes a $170 million plant with 2,400 tonnes daily capacity and 1,000 tonnes of canola oil output. Global demand for canola oil rises as production expands to meet healthy-food trends.
