Harvest Under Way Across Prairie Regions

Harvest progresses with mostly good weather. Robert and Christa Friesen are shown straight combining a hilly wheat field north of Roblin on Monday August 29. About a third of the Prairie harvest is in the bin and in the Northwest region a quarter of spring wheat has been cut with yields reported from 40 to 65 bushels per acre. Canola is only partly cut with swaths ranging from 20 to over 60 percent depending on area.

Roblin's food bank resumes operations after a summer hiatus this Wednesday September 7 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Robin Recycling Depot located at 113 1st Avenue NW. People needing food items can register during hours or at the Town of Roblin office.
