Fred Fedorchuk, 61, of Shellmouth Manitoba, was found dead after his 42 ton truck left the road and rolled into a ditch three miles south of Shell Valley around 2 am Monday. Funeral services were held at Knox United Church Roblin for John MacLeod 42 of Bield after a long illness. He was born in Scotland 1880 came to Canada 1925 and married Jessie Graham in 1904. Do We Need A Library Regional Library Act Of Manitoba

The 1948 Public Libraries Act of Manitoba lets two or more municipalities form a regional library after a majority vote in each participating municipality. Petitions must include at least 8 percent of electors. By-Laws require a public vote and approval by the Municipal and Public Utility Board. Regional libraries are run by a board appointed by member councils. If Roblin residents support, sign petitions through listed organizers.

Hog premium changes in Canada outlined by minister

Agriculture Minister Alvin Hamilton announced revised hog quality premiums effective September 4. Grade A premiums revert to $2, Grade B remains discontinued, with total savings about $1.5 million. He cited market firmness and higher national average swine support under the Stabilization Act at $23.65 per 100 lb. CNIB Campaign Seeks Donations To Aid Blind Manitobans

Miss Shelley Newton left Friday for Winnipeg to attend United College. Mrs. Wm Cranwell and Mrs. H C Cranwell drove to Broadview Saskatchewan Sunday to visit relatives. Mr and Mrs Andrew Miller and Mardel visited Rhien Saskatchewan for church and relatives. Miss Sharon Livingstone returned from Sioux Narrows Ontario where she had been employed. After a holiday at her mother's home she left for Brandon College to resume studies. Mr and Mrs Clarence Riach and family of Calgary are visiting Keast homes. Roblin public notice extends local improvement district to lands

The Town of Roblin proposes enlarging local improvement district No. 1 by adding described lands under Section 745 1 of The Municipal Act. After enlargement, sewer and water extensions including a lift station will cost an estimated 65000 dollars funded by debentures issued 1963 through 1982. Annual levies include 25 cent frontage water and sewer rates, plus a two sevenths share of annual debenture costs, with the balance covered by existing district levies. Public works are to be financed from reserves and surpluses where available, with a court of revision set for October 9, 1962 at 8:00 PM.

Hospital Aid Meeting Held Tuesday September 4th

The September Hospital Aid meeting chaired by Mrs. M Rowley met in the hospital board room with eleven members present. Minutes from June were approved. A Regional meeting was announced for Sept 10 in Dauphin and Winnipeg convention Oct 3 4 at Royal Alexandra Hotel. A nominating committee was formed for October, and reports due then. Donations and sewing needs were reviewed along with canned goods efforts and removal of cart service due to low demand.

On Sept. 7 the Bield Ladies' Club hosted a miscellaneous shower at Mrs. Wilma Belcher's home for Judy Shiner a bride-to-be for Sept. 14 About 45 guests attended gifts were drawn in by David Belcher A toy horse hay rack scene with a bride doll topped the display and the honoree thanked the group before a lunch.
