Do We Need A Library Regional Library Act Of Manitoba
The 1948 Public Libraries Act of Manitoba lets two or more municipalities form a regional library after a majority vote in each participating municipality. Petitions must include at least 8 percent of electors. By-Laws require a public vote and approval by the Municipal and Public Utility Board. Regional libraries are run by a board appointed by member councils. If Roblin residents support, sign petitions through listed organizers.

Eleven golfers from Roblin traveled to Dauphin last Sunday for the Dauphin Golf Club tournament. Weather hindered the golfers and no prizes were won.

Roblin public notice extends local improvement district to lands
The Town of Roblin proposes enlarging local improvement district No. 1 by adding described lands under Section 745 1 of The Municipal Act. After enlargement, sewer and water extensions including a lift station will cost an estimated 65000 dollars funded by debentures issued 1963 through 1982. Annual levies include 25 cent frontage water and sewer rates, plus a two sevenths share of annual debenture costs, with the balance covered by existing district levies. Public works are to be financed from reserves and surpluses where available, with a court of revision set for October 9, 1962 at 8:00 PM.

The September Hospital Aid meeting chaired by Mrs. M Rowley met in the hospital board room with eleven members present. Minutes from June were approved. A Regional meeting was announced for Sept 10 in Dauphin and Winnipeg convention Oct 3 4 at Royal Alexandra Hotel. A nominating committee was formed for October, and reports due then. Donations and sewing needs were reviewed along with canned goods efforts and removal of cart service due to low demand.
