Jacob N. Baker and Smley Anne are engaged as announced in Resina Saskatchewan. The announcement notes Smley Anne is from Chilliage and that the couple plan a September ceremony at Redeemer.
The Weeding Mohr Boughton wedding took place on August 2, 1969 at St Johns Shevlin. Paul Borchardt and Gloria Mohr Boughton were united as Mr and Mrs Gilbert. Guests from Winnipeg and distant towns attended the ceremony and reception at Rollin United Church and Rugin Memorial Hall.
The park project concentrates on land acquisition and site development plans for a sailing lake and facilities. By 1968-69 on site surveys and topsoil stockpiling completed. a PFRA Dam Construction Company building added as a maintenance shop. Plans for 1969-70 include road, parking, beach pavilion, change houses, boat launching, and utility services aiming for mid 1970s readiness. final completion date not fixed, with substantial development hoped by 1972-73 fiscal year.

Mr Tommy Kelso, recovering from heart surgery in Rochester Minn, remains hospitalized with results unknown.
Roblin Parkland Festival resumes with Speech Arts and Dancing in November and Vocal and Instrumental in March. Last year saw 640 entries. organizers urge active volunteer support from teachers and community to assist participants with accompanists, coaching, and directives. Soil conservation forage seed policy offers Grass seed mixtures for erosion control on Class IV land. Seed allotments cover 10 20 or 30 acres per year with $2.00 per acre price. Orders due November 17 1969. Announced by Ag Rep and notes ending employment at Roblin Office September 12 1969.

The cut costs the treasury 28 million yearly prompting tax and fee raise speculation. Debate also covers Cass Beggs appointment to study Southern Indian Lake flooding and its social impacts on the Indian community.

Dale joins them after holidays. Guests at Arthur Lovas and MacLeod’s include W L Gibson, F MacLeod, Jack Poucher and family. Poucher hospitalised. Fred Kuenstner home after rehab in Brandon. Doris Yellowaga’s August visit by Stan King and family. Wm Symbolisty and Nellie Zibresky also noted.
Mrs Gay Mitchell Mrs Bill Leslar and Mr John Mitchell traveled to Des Moines Iowa to visit Mr and Mrs Grieg Mitchell as they attended his mother's funeral in the city They returned home on Wednesday

Parkland Development Corpora tion reports its three month project phase yielded strong results. Three university students led major research on regional dynamics while five high school girls conducted a July August manpower survey with an 80 percent household completion rate.
The O.O.R.P Roblin Lodge No 210 held its first fall meeting on Thursday September 4 and approved plans for the Arthritis and Rheumatism campaign. A representative from the Arthritis and Rheumatism Society will speak at an open meeting and film show September 22 at 8 p.m. in Elks Hall. Attendees planned tag days and a fall social. Vendors served fried chicken salads and buns at lunch.
