In Hillsburg voters chose Jos. Perchaluk for Reeve with 206 votes and Bugera 148 while Skomorowski had 48. Councillors Ward 1 Pronyk 76 and Znack to be counted. Ward 2 Hojnocki 62 and Lowas unknown. Village councillors Becker 224 Fisher 194 Goodes 135. Goose Lake S D two year term John Collins 128 Harold Halldorson 67.

Pupils Enroll 430 At Roblin Collegiate And Public School

Four hundred thirty students attend Roblin this term with a four room addition completed. The teaching staff totals fifteen with two caretakers and twenty van drivers. The town notes the school’s growing role in the local finances and daily life.

Mr and Mrs C Coleman and Butch visited Waskada last week. Mrs A Dayson left for Brandon to attend the Provincial W I convention. Mrs Len Sanders and baby daughter travel to Holland for six months to visit her parents. Cameron Curle spent holidays with his parents. The Saunderses returned from Fort Francis after Frank Saunders died. The October W I meeting drew thirteen members and four visitors with Mrs Geo Smellie of Russell District President in attendance. Mrs Chomski won the 5 cent draw. Mrs Smellie won the social contest followed by lunch served by Mrs Sanders. The annual meeting is set for Nov 16 at Mrs Wilf Ward’s home.
