Farmers Protective Assn. Won't Organize at Roblin

Large crowd attends Roblin district meeting in the auditorium with speeches by R Buckley Crystal City and other speakers. The consensus is Roblin will not form a local Farmers Protective Association unit and a floor resolution calls for all grain to be handled by the Board.

Rebekah Bazaar Supports Roblin Memorial Hall

A well attended Rebekah Bazaar sponsored by the Past Noble Grand's of the Order of Rebekahs was held in Knox United Church basement on Oct. 14. Proceeds totaling 85 dollars fund the Roblin Memorial Hall under construction. Mrs. W. R. Scott won the mystery pie raisin guess prize.

Miss McKenzie To Address W M S Conference

The W M S Thankoffering Service is set for Thursday October 19 at 3 p m in the church with Mrs Kern as speaker A one day W M S Conference follows Friday starting at 10 a m A box luncheon tea will be provided Miss McKenzie from the Dominion Board will lead both sessions inviting all women to attend.

Shower for Bride of Rolla B C

Mrs J Fyfe hosted a Thursday afternoon shower in Rolla B C for Mrs J Miller nee Ruth McDuffe. About 20 friends surprised Ruth after a game of 20 Questions. She received a basket of gifts from Mrs Jack McDuffe and Mrs George Laird and thanked her friends. A dainty lunch ended a pleasant afternoon.

Brandon residents visit family members in Manitoba

Around The Town notes Alice Currey of Brandon spent Sundays at her home. Mrs. Stewart Mackey and daughter Jo-Ann of Brandon visited relatives including Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Currey. Ed Aboud and Dick Adams of Winnipeg were guests at the Jack Nelson home. Mrs. J. Graf visited with her son and daughter-in-law at the Mazur home in Winnipeg.
