Clocks in Manitoba revert to standard time in the early hours of Sunday October 29 under the Official Time Act amendment of 1987. Daylight saving ends at 3 a.m. when clocks fall back to 2 a.m. Uniform DST remains in effect province wide until the last Sunday in October.

The town of Roblin dedicated Currey Park at Goose Lake site formerly known as the park at the old lagoon. The ceremony honored Art Currey Roblin’s town foreman for 25 years for leading recreation area development. Mayor Lorne Boguski praised Currey and noted his teamwork with councils staff and citizens. Currey thanked his wife Marie and the crowd as tears and pride filled the moment.
The Town of Roblin obtained a court order to force farmer Harvey Switzer to irrigate his hay fields with town lagoon effluent, after he announced he would stop this year. Council pressed for compliance to avoid an emergency as the Oct. 31 legal deadline nears, with support from nearby RMs and residents’ group.
Voters head to the polls from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. to decide a new mayor in Roblin and to elect councillors and a school board trustee across RM of Shell River Hillsburg Park and LGC of Park. Campaigning has been low key with limited outreach and no public forums.

The Roblin credit union, founded by 10 members in 1941, now reports assets of 16.6 million and 2,770 members with loans at 12.5 million.
