The Roblin district targets a $100 000 quota with a Monday opening and $10 000 subscribed by Wednesday. Volunteers are needed to canvass, with salesmen working without commission and bonds available at the Victory Loan office on Main Street or Royal Bank for Canadians ready to support the war effort.
Roy Porteous and Lieut Tom Kines visit Roblin residents. Irene Peden visits in Winnipeg. severe wind and rain storm hits Roblin with no snow yet. Cameron Curle heads to Gilbert Plains for C N R duties. Pte Nancy White returns to Brandon from home visit. Ed Glover visits from the East coast. Mrs Wm Yourchek returns from Vancouver. Bishop to hold confirmation in Roblin Oct 31. Local cadets to salute at United Church service. Alvena Kroll departs to Windsor for war industry work. Trp W W Runfons returns to St Catharines from England. congratulations to Pte and Mrs Kay Johnston. P johnson leaves to rejoin at Halifax.

Notables include Hon R J M Parker in Togo, Miss Fedne Furtney joining Regina, RC A F Spt Leslie Kirion on home visit, and Mrs Janet Furtney at a state medicine convention. Residents attend church events, host stays, and plan parcel packing for overseas service with donations urged.
Inglis Mr. Steeler buys Mr Fred Woodkey's house. Mrs L Honstein and George visit Winnipeg. A curlers' dance draws a large crowd Friday. Hartley MacDonald R.C.A. F. Yorkton spends weekend at Shnider's Gordon McKay R.C.A.F. weekend home Asessippi. Melvin Litzenberg R.C.A.F. Red Deer Alberta spends two weeks with parents. John Anglet sells property (ex J.W. De La Mare) to August Halwas.

Miss Mildred Smith left for Dauphin on Monday night. Congratulations to Mr and Mrs John Dixon on the birth of a baby boy. Mr and Mrs Geo Stephens of Bowsman spent the weekend with Mr and Mrs H Wilson. Constable Roy Johnson of the RCMP Peace River renewed acquaintances in the district Sunday. John and Charles Stoneman of Parry Sound visit their aunt and uncle Mr and Mrs Thos Dixon. A dance in the hall on Friday Oct 15 raised funds for the Christmas tree. The Ladies of the MFA meet at Mrs Wilson’s on Oct 27 to pack boxes for the boys overseas. A good attendance is hoped. Mr and Mrs Wm McMurray left for Holmfield Man Oct 23 for the Diamond Wedding of Mrs McMurray’s parents, Mr and Mrs Eggleston.

A Victory Loan salesman recalls a pleasant visit with Mr and Mrs J Vellechenko where three sons and a son in law have enlisted in His Majesty's Armed Forces.
The Misses Ogla and Mary Hrynkiw will travel to Winnipeg to attend Bible College. Farmers seek labor for fall road work as teams are scarce. A Sunday church service featured Miss Nygaard, a missionary of 25 years in Africa, delivering an inspiring address.
