Mental health hero honored at Dauphin awards
Jane Slone of Roblin’s Chicken Delight received a Heroes of Mental Health award at the October 6 ceremony in Dauphin. The CMHA Manitoba Division event celebrated individuals and organizations advancing mental health awareness and support, with awards also going to Pam Jordan Marcella Tostowazyk Don Gessner Bob Curle the Dauphin Friendship Centre and the Parkland credit unions. Slone was nominated by the Roblin HERO Club for the Business category.

Windpower plan discussed near Minnedosa and Neepawa
Greenwing Energy Management held a public meeting on October 4 to discuss a proposal for 50 to 100 wind turbines in the area north and east of Minnedosa and north and west of Neepawa. Graduation marks Grandview Class of 2006 ceremony
Grandview graduation celebrations on September 30 welcomed 22 graduates including two exchange students. Valedictorians Ava Grexton and Travis Grexton led the class with Travis winning the Governor General's Medal. In Russell, the first October weekend drew a record high turnout for Manitoba's largest high school rodeo, hosting 149 competitors and families at the Russell Ag grounds.
