The Canada Safety Council marks its fourth annual School Bus Safety Week from October 17 to 28 1982. The theme Get Involved urges community responsibility to protect children, emphasising stop for flashing bus lights, driver training, vehicle maintenance, and clear safety rules for all.
The Golf Club agreed to have the New Year’s Dance every other year with the Kinsmen, proceeds to washrooms. Shareholder loans were discussed and left as is since no requests were made. The Parkland Golf Tour Association formed with Swan River and four other clubs, hosting a final tournament each year. Golf fees for 1988 set for shareholders and non shareholders with different rates, plus daily green fees and a potential Seniors’ Day. School golf fees planned at $1 per student. Election of officers left two vacancies, with a nominating committee formed and a call for broader member involvement. The retiring executive received thanks from Wil Sutton for a job well done.
