Badminton Club seeks use of Assembly Hall for winter with rates of 20 for two nights or 30 for three nights until 10 am. trustees reserve right to rent hall any night. Accounts approved for Cireski Imperial Oil Nowagad Beaver Lumber Cranwell Mitchell Roblin Review Fisher Bros Roblin Hardware. Next meeting set for 2 30 pm. Bennie Mitchell moved adjournment.

J W Eddy returned from a motor trip to Winnipeg and other Manitoba Saskatchewan points. United Church choir reorganized and helped in Sunday service. Mr and Mrs W J Norris and family of Foxwarren Man. and Mrs Vance and children of Kent visited Mr and Mrs H M Brown. Mr G P Baker of Hough Campbell & Ferguson Winnipeg and a Baker nephew visited Dr Baker Friday, traveling by motor. Mrs Jima of Pine River visited her mother Mrs Lardy Sunday. Missionary Society met in schoolhouse last Tuesday. Community Club met at Mrs Ed Olson's home last Wednesday.

Thanksgiving notes and local visits in Deepdale district
Mr Jim Ward spent Thanksgiving in Winnipeg while Mr and Mrs Jas Ward of Rolla North Dakota visited relatives in the district. Ward brothers spent the holiday at their home. Wm Wallace, formerly of the district now in Detroit, was a passerby last Thursday. TE Barclay and O McCorgondale with G Gardner and Irene motored to Crummier last Tuesday. Rev McLeod visits Carrot River Valley. pulpit filled October 16 by a Salvation Army officer at Kamsack. A long awaited dance last Friday drew strong turnout from Roblin and nearby communities, thanks to Six Syncopaters and Roblin youth, plus guests from Togo and Makaroff.

The Poultry Pool held its annual meeting on Monday and the school added another van, bringing the total to nine. Mr Bobby McLardy motored to Calder on Sunday, where he was presented with a goat to accompany him home, now possessing a pair of goats.

Quiet wedding in Mafeking ties Collins family
Multiple 1920s era notices detail social visits across Cromarty Shortdale and Mafeking. Hazel Irene Collins wed W Clarkson at the Collins home with Rev D S Kern officiating, marking the couple and parents’ thirty first anniversary. guests included Miss Kathleen Collins and Frank Collins. The Clarkson couple plan to reside in Mafeking.
Merridale District Threshing Nears Completion
Threshing is nearly finished in Merridale district with only a few stacks left. Bears are increasingly present in the nearby forest reserve, Bert Cockerill recently shot a large one. Bertie Fraser departs soon for aviation training after a summer on J Poyser’s ranch. Mrs Harold Fraser is recovering from illness. Len Curle and his wife hosted a dance on Oct 7 at Svko's new house with free admission, fine music, and a large crowd of neighbors, farmers, threshermen, and visitors.

Death of Robert A. Watson at Tummel October 6
Robert A. Watson died at Tummel on Thursday October 6 from a cerebral haemorrhage. Born near Normington Ontario 62 years ago, he lived in the Tummel district for many years. Funeral held Monday October 11. many attended pay respects. He loved sport, especially baseball, and supported the Tummel Club. A Merridale Baseball club dance is planned for Friday October 21 at Merrile school with 15 prizes and 25 cent tickets for dance and draw starting at 8 p.m.
