Pioneer Lammie dies after long illness at 70

Robert L. Lammie died at Tammeel residence on October 4 at age 70 years 4 months and several days after a long illness. Born in Ontario he moved to Brandon in 1882, then Anaconda in 1903 before homesteading in the Tussmel district in 1904. A Liberal, he raised a family of six and was active in community affairs. Funeral Saturday at Tomas Cemetery drew many friends.

PATAL ACCIDENT AT FIELD CLAIMS LIFE OF SCOTLAND NATIVE

A fatal field accident last Thursday left Stephena Masters Willie and phastone dead, found in a field with injuries described as severe. The deceased, in his forties and a Scotland native who settled in the district twelve years ago, was honored as a kind neighbor. Funeral services were held in Hall by Mr Chisholm, with floral tributes and the body to rest at Bield cemetery.

Roblin Couple Wed In Quiet Autumn Ceremony

On Wednesday October ird at the home of Mr and Mrs H Howe the marriage united Lola Lor and Harry Pitcher both of Roblin Rev J L King officiated in a small gathering of relatives and friends The bride wore taupe satin with silver lace and rose piping while the groom wore formal attire A reception luncheon followed and the couple departed for a honeymoon in Winnipeg and Portage la Prairie Attendees included many townspeople and generous rice and confetti showers celebrated the occasion.

Harvest Home Services and Farm Auction Report

A fire spread to a straw stack beside the granary, but some grain was saved while most was destroyed. Harvest Home Services were held in Davis Hall with a well arranged display of food and special choir music. Grand Narrows reports Mrs Jones ill and wished a speedy recovery. Mrs Dixon traveled from Kamsack on Sunday to visit her grandson. Mrs Barnsforth of Kamsack visits Mr and Mrs A Jackson for several days. Rally Day service led by Rev P Jones at 8 p.m. welcomed. Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Tom Burrell on birth of a daughter last week. Visitors Giloan J Sinclair and Mr Sharpe of Makaroff stopped by Thursday. Neighbour Joe Barry lost three horses in two weeks. district extends sympathy.
