PARC receives funding for regional growth strategy plan
The Parkland Agricultural Resource Co-op PARC has been awarded 24500 in federal and provincial funds to support the Parkland Regional Growth Strategy initiative. The project aims to craft a long term marketing plan to attract retain and grow foreign direct investment. PARCs members include the RMs of Hillsburg Grandview Gilbert Plains Ethelbert Dauphin and the towns of Grandview Gilbert Plains and Ethelbert.

Swan River earns four blooms in Communities in Bloom judging

Sand Hills Casino project planned near Glenboro
The Gazette notes construction began on a 31000 square foot Sand Hills Casino north of Glenboro in June with a spring 2014 opening planned at an estimated cost of 20 million dollars. The ranch styled facility will create 150 full time jobs in the area. Dauphin Herald reports volunteers from local TD staff Sparks Brownies Guides and Pathfinders helped plant 445 potted white spruce trees, Manitoba’s official tree, on Sept 28 for use by Dauphin Parks and Recreation. TD Tree Days began in 2010 as a national employee engagement program.
