Mrs. C Kelly reports Elizabeth Baumung returned home from the hospital last week while Laumung broke ribs. Many relatives and neighbors visited, including the Smiths of Pennans Oriant and several Baumung, Schmidt, Diehl, and Davis families. Mr Baumung was a one day patient. Centennial Flag Design Unveiled at Roblin Meeting
Maitland B. Steinkopf announced Manitoba’s Centennial flag featuring the buffalo on blue with 1870 and 1970 marks. The flag debuts at year opening celebrations December 31 and will be flown across Manitoban centers during 1970. The Roblin gathering included local officials, residents, and tours of town sites.

Reports describe bears causing extensive damage to cattle, crops, and grain. Calves were killed on the Bruno Mitchell farm this fall while six bears were seen Friday evening harassing a flax crop north of Grand View near the Duck Mountain area.

John Wesley Oldham was inducted into the Roblin Pastoral Charge of The United Church of Canada on September 28, 1969 at 7 30 p m in Knox United Church Roblin. Northland Presbytery officiants were Jack Mitchell and Jim Scott. The message centered on shared ministry of reconciliation in church and community. Visiting clergy attended and a fellowship hour followed in the church basement.
