Welding course offered in Roblin area in 1970

The Manitoba Service will sponsor 12 welding courses province wide with Roblin area allocated one. The course lasts one week and runs between January and March. Interested participants should contact the Ag Rep office promptly as seats are first come first served. Roblin Elks Install Officers for 1970 at November Meeting

Roblin Elks No 396 installed a new slate for 1970 led by D D G E R Laycock of Russell. New officers include Paley as PER and Gaber as WER with Dietrich, Landry, Campbell, Boguski and Keast among others. A $200 gift from Paley supported Elk Hall kitchen renovations. The lodge will assist in Santa Claus parade duties and candy distribution while promoting a 12 month monthly draw raising 1800 in prizes and 1200 for community projects.

On November 18 a Manitoba University livestock nutritionist J C Dan Brown spoke to beef cattle producers on buying beef concentrate by phosphorus cost and using trace minerals and vitamin A. He advised careful Stibesterol use and outlined feeding forms. A follow up talk by Roger Chychota on cow calf and stocker economics is set for November 25 at 7 30 p m in Dauphin.
