Early settler Levie Tuominen dies in Fort Langley BC
Levie Tuominen, longtime Togo resident, died in Fort Langley BC on Tuesday November 7. He came to Togo in 1904, took a homestead, worked as a carpenter, and served at Union Bank before its Royal takeover. He later farmed at Lindau and lived in Edmonton before moving to Fort Langley last September. He leaves a wife, two sisters J H Abercrombie of Togo and Mrs Paiement of Dauphin, and two brothers E W of Larned Kansas and Glen C of Ridgedale Sask. The community mourns his passing and offers sympathy to the family.

Meridale Farewell For Residents Moving To Winnipeg

Hayloft Jamboree Benefits Memorial Hall at Roblin
The Hayloft Jamboree sponsored by the Women's Institute of Roblin will be staged at the school auditorium on Thursday and Friday this week. Local residents perform with Verna Vellechenko as Lulu Belle and Clem Busby as Hiram, with Uncle Ezra and Joe Kelly among the cast. Amateur acts include tap dancing, songs, fiddling, impersonations, and square-dancing led by Ron Vaudry, with cash prizes voted by the audience each night. The Tiny Tot Popularity Contest runs daily, standings posted at Mitchell's Drug Store, prizes awarded on Friday, advance tickets from Women’s Institute members, merchants, or high school girls.
