Mrs C Pewes and her husband marked their twenty fifth wedding anniversary with a party in Deeqeials for in a wine Wee Ment area. They were presented with a lovely electric kettle. Guests enjoyed cards and a pleasant wine scent as the evening concluded joyfully.
Mrs McCarfe hosted a retirement gathering on the 18th as forty friends joined to honor Alexander and Ing Was. The event at Oria in BC featured a bus ride and social visit celebrating the retiree’s long service.
Silverwood hosts a Social Evening on October 30 with Mr A Baldwin’s Halloween party for schoolchildren. The Framingham Seed Fair at Grand Narrows hall sees Grace Murrayard Maynard Dixon and 4H participants placing among winners. John and Carol Radford report frost and hail affecting samples. lunch service follows. Visitors Miah Maguire Kathleen and others from Togo and Kamsack visited Fram ineaam on Sunday.
Mr and Mrs Sid May left for Vancouver on Tuesday for a two month vacation. In Legion Hall on Sunday at 3 p.m. friends honored Mr and Mrs R McKee on their 25th wedding anniversary with a chest of silverware. Wm Dickie spoke and Mrs H Sumner presented the gift. Out of town guests included Mr and Mrs A McKee of Dauphin. Flowers came from Mrs Sam McKee of Dauphin who was unable to attend. James Topham was MC. A delicious lunch followed. R G Andrews reports installing a TV set at home with good reception from Regina. The Hallowe en Party hosted by the Togo Elks Thursday night was enjoyed by all.
The Grand Narrows Women’s Institute met at Miss Atwater’s home on October 17 with most members in attendance. Plans for a Whist Drive and a Silverwood hall dance were discussed along with a Roblin rally featuring Mrs Forrester’s Ceylon trip slides. Edith Charters wed Garth Smart in Roblin, with a large reception at the bride’s home followed by a late dance in Silverwood hall.

Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Donald Dixon on the birth of a baby girl. Whist Drive and Dance sponsored by Grand Narrows W I to be held in Suiverwood hall in November.
Mr and Mrs Geo Beattie spent two days visiting friends at Swan River. Mrs M Michalik returned from Chicago last week. Miss Arlene Beck came back from Winnipeg after two weeks in hospital. Mr and Mrs Ivan Boyce and family of Flin Flon spent the weekend with relatives here. Earl Beattie of Flin Flon visits his parents. Mrs J Davis visits daughter and son in law at Flin Flon this week. Charlie Elliott returned from Winnipeg after a week with his wife in hospital. Mr J C Arnott spent several days in the city.
