R C I students presented an excellent variety concert on Friday evening May 9 in the Roblin Collegiate Auditorium. Master of Ceremonies D Arcy Keast kept the program lively with color comedy music and dance. The event featured Loretta Ziebart readings performances by Rev Haberstock Sharon Taylor Glenda Klemetski Donny Vermeulen and groups Us Four and the RC L Twirlers. The night included two comedy plays performances by Sleepwalkers 68 and lively dance numbers.

Roblin Gun Club May Shoot Highlights Local Visitors
The Roblin Gun Club held a May 8 shoot with about thirty to thirty five members and visitors from Yorkton Brandon Dauphin and Ottawa. Roy Dzikowski RCMP officer announced a new Visa Control Officer post at the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo. Scores were led by Al Allan son Brent Lees Roy Yaworski and Walter Goran with 24 of 25. Art Harris won the Miss and Out event and May 11 Brandon trap meet saw Floyd Mansoff win Class B Trophy and handicap trophy while Walter Fowler took the Novice Trophy.

Delegates heard guest M J G McMullen executive director of the Manitoba Golden Boys speak on evaluating and preserving wholesome rural living. He stressed food needs and the role of farmers in society noting hunger remains widespread and changes must consider individuals.

Roblin School Band Heads to Moose Jaw Kinsmen Festival
The Roblin School Band leaves Friday at 1 p.m. by bus for Moose Jaw to compete in the Kinsmen Band Festival. Test piece is Saturday morning with foes Lucky Lake Arm River Rosetown Indian Head and Gull Lake. Sixty two bands attend the parade and Roblin is 56th in line.

Stolen vehicle case tied to Shortdale arrest
A vehicle owned by Arthur Doering was reported stolen at about 1 a.m. on May 9 from his 4th Avenue home. It was found in a ditch near Shortdale Manitoba. David Gerald Windall Catagas of Shortdale District was arrested near Grandview by Cst. Peter Juba and charged in connection with the theft.
