A three day Jehovah's Witnesses seminar at Gilbert Plains concluded with 700 attending the auditorium to hear District Supervisor J Scaglione speak on What Is Behind the Spirit of Rebellion. He linked youth and adult rebelli on to evil spirit influence and called for a new arrangement of things while inviting home Bible studies. Allan Koykka led a baptism as five delegates showed their willingness to serve.

Mark 69 reports Old Zelda went down on April 20. Roblin residents Ken Garener Peter Mysko C F Mc Crea and G Voldechar guessed the date and time. The contest raised funds for the Roblin Rink and two bursaries are awarded to Roblin Collegiate Institute and Saint Vladimir's College. The R C I winner is a Grade Twelve student headed to higher learning and will receive the award at commencement.

Regional Instrumental Contest Showcases Manitoba School Bands

Roblin Deloraine and Souris Valley bands joined St Pierre and Eastern Manitoba groups for the Centennial Instrumental Band Competition in Souris on May 7 8. Adjudicator Fred Merritt announced that final scholarship awards of 500 300 and 200 would be based on three test pieces. Fashion in Fabrics opened in Roblin on Thursday May 6 with coffee and tape measures for the first 200 attendees. The shop at 1st Ave and Main occupies the former Mail Order office building and offers fabrics, knits, patterns, notions, and sewing machines. Peter and Judy Glagowski own the business and manage it with Judy’s previous MacNutt ties, farming southwest of Roblin with two children, Michelle and Michael.

Lutheran Ladies Aid Met Thursday May 6

The St. Matthew's Lutheran Ladies Aid met in the church basement on May 6 at 8 00 p m. Eight members attended. The group opened with hymn scripture and prayer, studied Matthew 16 1 28, and discussed yearbook picture taking bake sale and Red Cross canvassing. Lunch was served by Mrs Borchardt and Mrs Vernon Andres.

Air Cadets parade marks inspection and year-end plans

On Tuesday May 4 fifty cadets two officers three instructors and five visitors paraded for inspection led by Constable Annand with Adjutant and Warrant Officer ACI Dean Dietrich. Lyle Pacaykowski of Roblin scored 100 percent on the Hunter Safety exam. the most improved cadet received the lanyard and a one dollar bill. The Wing Parade is set for June 1 with final preparations for the year-end parade banquet and ensuing activities.
