Mr McNeill attended church and preached again last Sunday. Mrs A J Cotteral and her nephew Roy visited from Togo, staying with Mrs E Finch. Arbor Day activities involved a school ground spring clean. Farmers Union members cleared scrub at the future hall site and held a meeting in the school house. Building work on the land progresses. Visitors Mr and Mrs E Cox and family joined Mr and Mrs Horsnell at their home last Sunday.
Wright of Kenora visited Merridale and reported improving roads and rising traffic. Local farmers Livy and W Low have started bee keeping as a sideline to farming. A fire at Mr Freser’s residence was quickly fought by prompt action from A J Wae.
Local farmers report damp conditions as spring work begins. Sunday School reorganized with 11 am start in May. A local rat trap routine continues. UFM Women plan May 13 meeting at UFM Hall and a monthly meeting on May 14. Sympathy extended to family of Herbert Greenison, who died at 29 in Dauphin hospital. Juvenile choir of 15 sang Sunday with Pastor and three locals. Irene Craig accompanied on organ. congregation thanked the children for the musical treat.
