Manitoba unveils first surgical robot at HSC Winnipeg

The da Vinci Xi robot, funded by the HSC Foundation and Manitoba Province, debuted April 28 to advance thoracic, gynecologic cancer, and urology surgeries. Donor patient An Ji Li credited robotic surgery with a rapid recovery and reduced cancer treatment anxiety. The $3.6 million system aims to cut wait times, shorten hospital stays, and improve patient flow.
