MTI opened a survey after an open house with 60 plus attendees to weigh three bridge plans for the Lake of the Prairies crossing. Option 1 proposes a new wider 75 year bridge 50 m north with full removal of the old span. Option 2 would build a wider bridge 10 m north while reusing much of the causeway and keeping two lanes open during construction. Option 3 calls for major rehab of the existing bridge with a widened deck and piers, expected to have a 40 year life and one lane traffic during work. MTI plans to select a preferred option in June and start planning 2026-27. Citizens can still submit input via a QR survey open for another week.
