Manitoba moves to shield hospital and care home residents from abuse

The Doer government introduced a first reading bill to protect Manitobans in hospitals and personal care homes from physical sexual mental emotional and financial abuse. Health Minister Dave Chomiak said the act would require reporting investigations and directives to safeguard patients and residents while protecting reporters from repercussions.
