Dialysis unit planned for Russell hospital expansion

Assiniboine Regional Health Authority moved forward with a 5000 square foot addition to the Russell and District Health Centre to house a six station hemodialysis wing. The project, first discussed in 1997, aims to cut frequent trips to Brandon or Dauphin, with plans for RN and LPN staffing and physician oversight. tendering is expected in June and opening early next year.

Goose Lake High Students Launch Youth In Philanthropy Program

Grade 12 World Issues class at Goose Lake High opens its third annual Youth In Philanthropy initiative with a $2,500 grant from Roblin District Community Foundation and the Thomas Sill Foundation. The program funds arts culture education recreation and community service with ongoing three year support. Betty Nykyforak is liaison. March 10 talk explained philanthropy. Applicants can pick up forms at GLH or online. deadline is Friday April 3, 2009.
