Province funds second development officer reshapes regional board
The Parkland Association of Communities of Manitoba will split PRDC into eastern and western regions with two independent boards after the province funds a second economic development officer. The PRDC will wind down by July 1 while maintaining the name and existing board until regional boards are functional. Committees will form in each community and regional boards may seek new funds via memberships, services or municipal levy.

Crop Insurance Changes Delayed Until 1990 say CI Officials
Trevor Britton of Grandview notes changes to Manitoba Crop Insurance Corporation programs will not be seen until 1990 with only a tentative timetable from the MCIC annual meeting. Provincial hearings planned this spring will allow producers and groups to air views as the federal review proceeds. Some 1989 changes are in effect including adjusted livestock feed boundaries and the option to raise the 80 percent payout cap, with pay out price per bushel floating until end of July or locking in by April 30 1989.
