Stewardship Theme Marks 26th Dauphin Presbyterial Meeting
The 26th annual Dauphin Presbyterial of the United Church held at Flin Flon Northern Minster saw fifty officers and delegates travel from Dauphin Ochre River Pine River Ethelbert Gilbert Plains Grandview Roblin Benito Kenville Swan River Minitonas and The Pas despite an unseasonable snowstorm. The event featured a banquet at Phantom Lake a welcome address by Mrs H Nell and speeches from church leaders including Mrs M Hamilton and Rev Marguerite Miller. Courses covered included stewardship of life time and money with reports of strong financials and a planned 1952 53 meeting in Dauphin.

4 H Sewing Club Achievement Day Shines Bright
The 4 H Sewing Club held an Achievement Day in the school auditorium with 37 participants. Ribbons awarded included 19 red 10 blue and 8 white as the program featured songs dances a play and solo items. Certificates of completion were handed to seven third year girls and the event raised 240 for Rally Day.

Plaque Unveiled To Honor Boer War Canadian Veterans
A bronze plaque commemorating 8000 Canadians who served in the Boer War was unveiled at the Legislative Building in Winnipeg on its 50th anniversary. Attorney-General C Rhodes Smith unveiled in Premier Campbell’s absence. The plaque, designed by Albert Parfitt and modeled by H Garnier, bears the inscription honoring those who enlisted for service in the South African War from Oct 11 1899 to May 31 1902.

Calfheed Vaccination Complete in Shell River
Last Friday the vaccination of all Heifer calves between 49 months was completed. This marks the first fully covered vaccination in Shell River Municipality since the policy began. Vaccination for calves reaching age this fall will start late October to early November, weather and harvests permitting. For inquiries contact Shell River Municipality or the Ag Rep's office.
