The Milk-for-Britain Fund, sponsored by the Kinsmen Clubs of Candodin, aims to send milk powder to overseas recipients. last year 1.5 million quarts were dispatched and 3.5 million quarts in eight months.
Goose Lake Collegiate held its graduation in the school auditorium Friday evening with purple and gold decorations. The program included class history, prophecies, valedictory by Bette Jakeman, musical selections by Debby Kreast and students, awards for Grades IX to AIL, and Governor’s Medal to Grace Horbay. The highlight was a keynote by Edward Crosthwaite of Oakton on the theme You are Canadians, we up to it. A subsequent dance closed the ceremony.

Private Rhinehe Ty St. Germain of Boggy Creek joined 140 recruits completing four weeks of basic training at the CWAC Trainings Centre Vermilion Alberta. St. Germain enlisted in Winnipeg and will return with 20 Manitoba peers to await assignment to an active army unit in the immediate future.

Arnott of Roblin is among 12 cadets who began training on May 21 at the Officers Training Centre Brockville Ontario to qualify for commissions in the Canadian active army Cadet Arnott will be commissioned a second lieutenant after course completion and proceed to advance training for the rank of lieutenant Born Inglis May 12 a daughter Helen Marian Evelyn Alice Marie born May 27 to McCallum family
