Ten Attend Tummel W A Meeting at Mrs Jory Home
Ten persons attended the Tummel W A meeting held at the home of Mrs. Ralph Jory on May 11 13. Eight members and two visitors were present. The agenda included a ceremonial reading and minutes, with Mrs. W Leslar and Mrs. G Jory attending the 34th annual WMS theater in May. A Filipino style demonstration was shown by an instructor named Yakmishyn. The June meeting will be at Mrs. Lear’s home on a Wednesday in June.

Livestock producers, feed company reps, and SOD workers plan to attend the University of Manitoba 10th annual Livestock Day in Room 107 of the Agriculture Auditorium starting 9:30 a.m. Topics cover swine nutrition, dairy and beef cattle, sheep, pelleted feeds, rotational grazing, tranquilizers, hormones, and injectable iron. A tour of rotational grazing and new livestock buildings is included.

The Roblin Musical Group of 79 members will debut on CKOS TV program Profile on June 24 under director Peter Calvert with pianist Anne Calvert. Formed March 1960, rehearsals draw about 45 singers weekly. Open to interested non singers, TV reach may expand via Baldy Mountain tower Channel 8.

Miss Lyia Henderson of the West Favelie Garden Club Swan River Ag Rip area led the Inter-District 4-H Public Speaking Contest in Roblin on May 25 with Water We Need It as her topic. Close contenders included Marilyn MacLennan Elaine Caughell Esther Indt and Wayne Digby as piano and adjudication supported the evening alongside Rev E Jarvis and Father Pereida. The event concluded with 4H Leaders Association providing coffee and doughnuts for a celebratory close.
