Canadian Players present New Brooms on opening night of Chautauqua at Rebiin June 15. The comedy blends humor with wisdom on love and marriage, family and business. Youth and experience collide, with pathos and humor in nearly every line. The play aims to leave audiences with a satisfying, humane impression.
Mr and Mrs J Radford visited Mr and Mrs Geo Murray. Miss A Framingham has returned to her home in Kamsack. Mr and Mrs M Laliberte visited Mr and Mrs F Afills on Sunday. Mr Russell Hayes, formerly of this district, is renewing acquaintances here. Mr and Mrs Murphy with Mr and Mrs F Mills motored to Russell on Friday. Mr and Mrs McWilliams and daughter and son motored from Gilbert Plains and spent Sunday with Mr and Mrs Harry Wilson.
James L. Bowman K C MSP writes from Ottawa on a crowded session with railway committee reports, insurance acts, relief bills, and tariff debates. He notes unanimous passage of the railway report, shifts in policy to prevent overreach, and concerns over U S duties affecting Canadian trade. He thanks constituents and the editor, and looks forward to returning home.
A Field School day on June 3rd is announced. Mr Geartz Miller of California visited his brother Alex recently. Mr H Watson and wife left for Brandon to start a new home. The Cormuity Club held a dance Friday night with fair crowds and good music. Florrie Chase drove to Dauphin to visit sister Irene in treatment there. Swinson Bros of Bredenbury visited L C Wells. Misses A and D Jaasund visited cousin Irene Trybol in Dauphin hospital for appendicitis. The Girls Four Leaf Clover lab picnicked at Jack Fish Lake on May 24th despite strong winds.
May 30 1932 letter from Sidney E Rogers urges ratepayers to attend the June 22 council meeting to discuss provincial legislation allowing consolidation of tax arrears over six years with staged current tax payments and penalties written off. The letter explains terms and invites opinion or attendance.
Ven Archdegeon Knowles of Regina was in Togo on business last week. Mr and Mrs Stanley King motored to Fork River on Saturday, returning on Sunday. Miss Nyrerud of Kamsack visits sister Mra R. Topham this week. Rev H and Mrs McConnell attend United Church conference in Saskatoon. Mr and Mrs Jas Cormack of Grandview were guests of Capt Donald Sinclair on Sunday. Mr and Mrs F W Allen of Allendale Farm return from Winnipeg trip. Mr Walter Krupp moved his barber shop to Main Street office of Mr James McEwen. Duckmountain baseball team beat at home by visitors Monday. Mr and Mrs J Connell of Glasgow Montana were guests of the McConnells for several days. This week they motor to Saskatoon.
Mr and Mrs C Robertson visited friends in Grand View while Miss Mary Simpson of Tummel teaching staff spent the weekend at her home. Frank Dixon of Makaroff and Christoff family members were hosted by Dixon parents. A bazaar was praised for its success thanks to helpers. Adam Johnstone visited Gay McNichol at Zora. K J Collins returned from Gilbert Plains after three weeks away. Harry Robertson Jr recovered from pneumonia. Mrs J Adams and Mrs Fred McDuffe attended the district Rebekah convention in Grand View.

Local and General: Grandview hosts first league game tonight with Grandview visiting. Band concerts ran Saturdays last week. Mr A G Gleiser rents a hotel. painting will enhance Main street. Sign posts direct to Benito and Swan River north of the railway. Chautauqua meeting Monday elected officers and committees for the day program. Ticket price fixed at $2.25 for adults and $1.00 for children and students.
Mr J Paterson of Trask BC visits Merridale friends while Roderick Saunders of Detroit Michigan visits relatives there. M Prosky injured an arm in a wagon accident. Tony Clemens and Miss Haty Nowasod wed recently amid forest fire danger. Dry weather raises fire hazard in the forest reserve. farmers help extinguish several fires eight by three miles, all contained.
Born at the General Hospital Swan River on May 27 to Mr and Mrs Cecil A Rogers of Mafeking a son.
