Severe storm and crop damage report from Roblin area

The report describes two extremely hot days followed by a damaging storm on Monday. Winds reached cyclonic levels with dust and hail. By Tuesday, damage was reported near Roblin including 100 percent at Craig’s farm and 85 percent at Skinner’s, with 35 to 40 percent at Hardy Plant Nursery and 50 to 100 percent damage across areas from Dropmore to the river.

X-ray Clinic Draws Large Roblin District Attendance

The X-ray Survey in Roblin district last week drew about 3 026 people scanned with 63 percent of 4 700 district residents x rayed. Roblin and Shell River led turnout while Hillsburg Municipality lagged at around 25 percent. Credit goes to canvassing chair Robl Arnott Jr and Mrs J Yeo for card handling.

Goose Lake Collegiate reports Grade XIII results with Ethel Ritchie Merle Lamb Adam Styba Helen Tjaden David Glutck Vera Paulenko and Pat Arnott Neil Adam Clara Pawlek among those listed for one or two supplementals. Several students earned repeats or partial promotion based on supplementals. Grade XI honors include Governor General's medal winner Bill Gorda with top physics score 92.
