A July 20 1944 uprising by German officers and civilians failed to assassinate Hitler. The bomb exploded near him but he survived. Suspects were executed and a purge followed as Hitler reshuffled the leadership and moved to conceal his movements.

Queen Mary to Resume North Atlantic Passenger Service

The Queen Mary, an 81000 ton liner, will start weekly Southampton to New York service at end of July as a postwar passenger ship. The vessel, a former troop carrier, is being reconverted to luxury peace-time standards with new features for all classes, enlarged public rooms, more crew space, two garden lounges, and an air conditioned cocktail bar.

Tartar on teeth is mineral from saliva and debris that hardens around food particles and dead cells. It roughens the gum line, injures gums, shelters germs, and dental authorities urge a twice yearly oral exam to remove it before serious injury occurs.
