Province to compensate landowners over Shellmouth artificial floods
Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation will compensate Assiniboine Valley landowners for increments of artificial flooding downstream of the Shellmouth Dam in 2014. Damaged crops include hay under water, failed harvests, and lost fall cultivation opportunities. A compensation program and revised dam operating guidelines will be developed and communicated to producers.
