Roblin Fair Sets Big One Day Run July 27
The Roblin Agricultural Society hosts a one day fair on Friday July 27 featuring livestock in the Curling rink and Domestic Manufacturing and Horticultural exhibits in the skating rink. Baseball games plus Ladies Softball highlight the day with Mid-West Shows offering rides and games. A Malting Bailey judging contest with a government grader open to the public will display barley samples for judging. Plan to attend tomorrow.

Two Obituaries Span Vancouver and Roblin Communities
Funeral services were held for Emma Jane Munro in Vancouver under Jehovahs Witnesses with burial at Mountain View Cemetery. Survived by husband David, two sons James and Lloyd, daughter Mrs Robert Middleton, and several relatives. A second service for Fred Paritch of Roblin Manitoba occurred at Roblin Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church with interment in the Parish cemetery. Surviving family includes wife Paraska and many children grandchildren and siblings across several Canadian towns.

Manitoba provincial government announced extensive fish stocking across eight lakes and reservoirs, including 10 000 muskellunge fry in Beautiful Lake and 10 000 in Lake Audy. Over 200 000 kokanee fry released, 1 000+ adult saugers added to Pelican Lake, 111 000 splake fry released in Gull Lake after poisoning. Perch added to Pelican Shoal and Nellie Lakes.

Game & Fish Family Nite Held July 18
The Duck Mountain Game and Fish Association hosted Annual Family Night at Goose Lake Beach on Wednesday July 18 at 8 o clock. About two hundred attendees watched films and enjoyed a barbecue lunch under a pleasant evening sky. Local gunners released 200 Ring Neck Pheasants in Roblin on Wednesday July 25 and urged public cooperation in protection of the birds.

Brandon seeks new radio and CKX-TV rebroadcasts
Manitoba filings show Brandon CKX-TV seeking rebroadcast licenses at Foxwarren channel 11 with 6640 watts video and Melita channel 9 at 188 watts. A 1000 watt radio station for Transcona is proposed with 950 on the dial. Board sitting opens August 13 with 13 TV rebroadcast applications across Canada. If Foxwarren is approved, Roblin area may gain a second TV channel.
