Obituary: Tom West of Roblin Passes Away at 76
Tom West of Roblin died June 16 2019 in Yorkton Saskatchewan at 76. Born April 6 1943 in Parry Sound Ontario he was the youngest of five children of Tom and Ida West. He is survived by his wife Margaret daughters Eileen Lorri Kerry and Mary's sons Dan Scott and Rosalynn. grandchildren and great grandchildren. sister Eileen and numerous nieces and nephews. He lived on Bala Island Muskoka earlier in life and later trained as a barber. He traveled across Canada working as a barber and as a fisherman and farmer before settling into family life.

Memorable Manitoba railman Tom dies with rich stories
Tom, a lifelong railway worker who carried trains from Brandon to The Pas and beyond, lived a full life with farming, hunting, and country music. He retired in 1996 but returned to rail work, later hunting in Ohio and Kansas and ending his career in Panama in 2008. A June 28 funeral at Knox United Church Roblin MB honored his humour and twinkling blue eyes. Donations suggested to Roblin Knox United Church or the Alzheimer’s Society.
