Intermountain CD opens third flood control dam
The Intermountain Conservation District unveils the Tuy and Mitchell Dam as its third flood control dam. Constructed in 2018 with landowner Mery Mitchell, it sits on Harper Creek south of Grandview, aimed at reducing flood risk, erosion, and infrastructure damage through a dry dam design and undersized culvert to slow spring runoff.
