Mr and Mrs James aWeEven visited Alexander Afm last week. Mrs Abercrombie Miss Enid and Miss Thelma Davis motored to Kamsack on Monday. Walter Palley and daughter from Labetose Sask were guests of Mrs Wesley Shaw. Mr K S Popham with Jacob Hisner and son toured to Uappell Sanitarium Friday. Mr and Mrs Fred McConnell and two children motored to Glasgow Montana then home. Rev Mr Blewett and family arrived, taking up residence. The barn dance at Joseph Dickie’s on Friday raised a nice sum and earned credit for hospitality.

Sympathy to Miss Violet Nott on the death of her fiancé Bob Middleton killed in an auto accident at Kamloops on July 3. Mr Arthur Nott and his sisters Hilda of Vancouver and Mrs Buchanan of Keremeos arrived last Thursday from their parents Mr and Mrs TS Nott.

Pioneer Amos Maguire Dies at Silverwood
Jim Stewart and Bobby M Bride spent last week at Lake Madge. The Orange Lodge and United Church held a joint service on Sunday for Sunnystops. Rev G B Philip led the service and Rev McLeod preached. Amos Maguire, a Silverwood pioneer born January 6 1862 in Mammoth Ontario, died July 7 after a brief illness. He leaves wife and six sons Wesley William Miah Percy Lawrence and Cecil two brothers William of Elrose Sask and Adam of Hurton Sask, two sisters Mrs Walton and Mrs Dunford of Lakefield Ont. Funeral was conducted by the Orange Lodge with interment in Silverwood cemetery. His six sons served as pallbearers.

The Legion baseball tournament concluded with a five inning 13 to 3 MacNutt win over Togo and a 23 to 8 Roblin victory over MacNutt. Roblin’s battery McClarty Elwyn and J Gardner led the win. Russell visited Friday for a nine inning 12 to 7 Roblin loss.
