Wildlife group clashes with Roblin council over Goose Lake projects

The Roblin and District Wildlife Association condemned town actions at a July meeting, withdrawing support for Goose Lake projects citing lack of council cooperation and no recognition for restocking efforts. Severe hailstorm dominates Roblin area crops and homes

A late Saturday hailstorm hammered the Roblin area damaging grain fields gardens and buildings. Reports indicate near total crop loss north of Roblin with 150 acres fully hailed out and another 400 acres at 75 percent damage. Adjusters warn claims will rise as farmers report losses and hail season continues.

Controversial PTH 583 upgrade begins after decades of debate

The 1.85 km road from the 583 and Highway 83 junction near Roblin is under construction by Triline Construction of Arborg in a $400 000 contract. Metro Dupley says the project will straighten the route and reduce curves for safety while handling large fill material and land leveling for farm access.
