Roblin Teams Shine At Togo Elks Sports Day

The Togo Elks Lodge hosted a July 1 sports day with ten men's fastball teams from Togo Rhein Kamsack Shell Valley Roblin Calder Langenburg Endcliffe Bield and Lingville. Langeburg won the $100 first prize Roblin $50 second, Bield and Shell Valley $25 each for third and fourth. Roblin led the ladies softball with $10 top prize as Badgerville earned $5 for second. A dance capped the event before a sizable crowd.

An agricultural bulletin advises mechanical cultivation for weed control around new shelterbelts, leaving at least a four foot strip on each side. It recommends Gramoxone at 1 to 2 oz per 1 gallon water per 400 sq ft for weeds near the base, applied directly to weeds and avoiding foliage.
