Obituary of Steve Wincheruk 1921 2000 Saskatchewan farmer

Steve Wincheruk aged 78 of MacNutt and Zorra Districts Saskatchewan died suddenly January 11 2000 at Yorkton Regional Health Centre. He was born June 28 1921 and served as a Private in World War II from 1941 to 1945. He married Mary Smigelsky July 13 1947 and farmed near MacNutt until his death. He is survived by his wife two sons Pat and Tom and three daughters Betty Bev and Gloria and numerous grandchildren. he was predeceased by eight siblings and a son Benny. Funeral services were held January 17 2000 at Nairn-Chyz Funeral Home Roblin Manitoba.

Bill Angus of Manitouwadge Ontario passed away January 1 2000. Born May 8 1921 in Elkhorn Manitoba he served in WWII with the 12 Field Regiment landing at Normandy and was wounded August 1944. He married Iva Fowler December 7 1948 and farmed near Roblin.

Long career in Mines and community life for Bill in Ontario and Manitoba

Bill moved with Iva and daughters to Ontario in 1957 to work at Coldstream Mines near Thunder Bay. They returned to Roblin in 1958 where he ran a plumbing business, then worked at Geco Mines Manitouwadge starting 1959. The family lived in Manitouwadge for over forty years, with Bill later at Normanda Mines until 1984. He was active in church, Legion, Golden Age Club, woodworking, rock hounding, hunting, berry picking, maple syrup making, and stock trading. He enjoyed travel with Iva, mentoring nephews, and sharing stories about his hunts and wood cutting. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings.
